You can expect a different experience when you visit our office because Boulder dentist, Dr. Hughes will spend time getting to know your desires and expectations... for a life-long smile of beauty and health. Never satisfied with simply adequate knowledge, Dr. Hughes continued her education at the University of Iowa with an Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency. Upon completion of her AEGD Residency, she joined a private practice in North Liberty, Iowa.

She served as an associate for 3 years and volunteered her time as an adjunct faculty member at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry, Family Dentistry Department. In 2001, Dr. Hughes purchased her own private practice in Riverside, Iowa where she practiced for 6 years providing comprehensive care and sedation dentistry.

She has studied IV and Oral Conscious Sedation along with Advanced Cardiac Life Support at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center, Seaton Hall University. Additionally, Dr. Hughes has completed certification training at the Institute for Advanced Laser Dentistry to obtain her Laser Periodontal Therapy™ License.

In July 2008, Dr. Hughes received her Fellowship with the Academy of General Dentistry, one of the most rigorous continuing dental education awards offered today. Dr. Hughes is dedicated to staying up to date in her profession and has acquired over 700 hours of continuing education in the last 10 years. Only 3% of dentists in the U.S. and Canada have obtained the Fellowship Award with the AGD.

This achievement marks a significant milestone in her career. It demonstrates a long-term commitment to going above and beyond continuing education requirements to provide her guests with the most up-to-date treatment options and superior patient care.

More About Boulder Dentist Dr. Hughes

Dr. Tracey Hughes grew up in Urbandale, Iowa. She graduated from Buena Vista College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology and Chemistry and went on to receive her doctorate degree in dentistry from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 1998.

Dr. Hughes awards and honors include graduating Magna Cum Laude, being inducted as an honorary member of the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon Society, earning the AGD Senior Award in dental school and receiving the Ralph C. Appleby Removable Prosthodontic Award.

When she is not focusing on your smile, Dr. Hughes loves spending time with her two lovely children, Ben age 7 and Camryn age 5. She also enjoys cycling, skiing, and exploring what Colorado has to offer. To enjoy the beauty and recreation of the Rocky Mountains, Dr. Hughes and her family relocated to Boulder County in the fall of 2007.

Around that time she acquired a dental practice in Louisville, Colorado. Here she has created a friendly, relaxing environment where patients feel their oral health needs are being met in the most effective and comfortable way.
