Sedation Dentistry What to Expect

Oral sedation is administered in the form of a pill. Your correct dosage will be determined after a thorough exam and discussion of your medical history.

In most cases, an at home dose will be prescribed to begin the process and enable the sedative to take effect in a timely manner. For this reason you will need to arrange for transportation to and from your appointment.

Oral sedation allows you to be alert and responsive, while feeling no pain or discomfort. Most patients have little or no memory of their treatment afterwards. This type of sedation takes some time to wear off after your procedure.
